Memorial Day!

After a long day of walking around downtown, the kids posed for one last picture, but they couldn't get their heads to stay upright.
Rebecca at the Memorial Day parade.

The 16th Street Mall was all abuzz. The parade had ended, and the arts festival had begun. There were street musicians and performers, and lots and lots of people enjoying the sunshine.

Spencer: Mom, put down that camera.
Eva: Check out my flag, Mom!

It was an honor to be at the parade Saturday. We saw a survivor from the USS Indianapolis, and a flag was retired in behalf of a soldier from Littleton who has been on the missing-in-action list since 1962. I wish there had been more people there.

Last-day-of-school Hike

This is the fireplace of a hotel that burned down in 1912. The girls are listening for voices in the pieces of glass and pottery left behind (the plaque told them to listen).

Sanding the picnic table

May Days

For Family Home Evening this week, we downloaded the plans for this cool picnic table. We were inspired by Jon and Becky's creations. They told us about www.knock-offwood.com. Now we can eat outside!
Ben got hit by a water balloon on his way home from work. It was a big, big water balloon.

Spencer got a medal for participating in Lego Robotics at the GATE Symposium.

This is my Mother's Day breakfast feast. It was deee-licious.

Ben took up cake decorating.
