Broomfield Days

Last September, our Cubs drew up plans for a go-cart. They wanted to build one to ride in the Broomfield Days Parade. They worked on it all year long, and the parade was yesterday! They pushed this thing for a mile and a half, and they were pretty wiped out by the end, but they did great.
While the boys stole the show, Rebecca and her friend had a snack stand. They were very good little entrepreneurs. The hard part now is deciding what to do with their cash.

Other Happenings

This golden-cheeked gibbon kept us thoroughly entertained at the zoo.
The gang in front of the elephants.

Eva's piano recital.

Grandpa checks out Spencer's and Cade's bus, manufactured from a bath tub box.

Getting Back to Normal

We bought a house in the neighborhood at the end of July. We remodeled it and moved in at the end of August. It's been utter mayhem at times, but we're finally getting back to normal.
Spencer and Eva stand in front of the new driveway. Our only blemishes on the new driveway are the mailman's footprints.
Here's Rebecca hard at work in our new schoolroom, which is wonderful. It's tiny (6' x 10'), but it's big enough for us, and we don't have books all over the kitchen table all day long.

During the chaos, Rebecca turned 12 and got her ears pierced. She is enjoying the Young Women's volleyball team.

Dave did a great job with the electricity in the basement. We'll get some "after" photos of the basement this weekend.

Spencer and Ben tear out bricks from the basement floor.
